About the Clinic

At the Barleycorn Clinic, we provide personalised consultations and treatments either virtually through tele-health or in our discrete private clinic located in West Sussex. Our multidisciplinary team includes a nurse practitioner, GP advisor specialising in women's health, fitness expert, massage therapist, trauma specialist and meditation/breath work teacher. Together, we provide a truly holistic approach to health and wellness.

Clinical Expertise 

Donna, a highly experienced practitioner, graduated in 1998 and has over 20 years of experience in various medical settings including emergency departments, urgent care, trauma units and prehospital services both in the NHS and abroad. As a nurse practitioner and prescriber, she has worked extensively in acute care settings, and her roles have included clinical educator, senior lecturer, and pathway lead for MSc Advanced Practice and Prescribing programs.

Her clinical contributions include teaching clinical skills, advanced life/trauma support, physical assessments, consultations, prescribing practices, medico-legal topics, and research. Donna is also a qualified medical aesthetics practitioner, with expertise in advanced neuromodulators, dermal fillers, and management of complications.

 

Throughout her career, she has published numerous clinical and academic papers in the fields of emergency care and aesthetics, and has presented at national and international conferences. She is also an active contributor to editorial advisory boards for international scientific journals, focusing on research in best practices.

Donna’s extensive background as both a clinical practitioner and educator has paved the way for her expertise in functional medicine. Having navigated her own personal health journey, she understands the complexities involved and has spent the past several years deeply immersed in functional medicine research. This, combined with her conventional medical role, has driven her to build a health practice rooted in addressing the root causes of disease.

 

Her commitment to integrating science, biochemistry, and the latest research in health enables her to offer a comprehensive approach to client care. In addition to her passion for health, Donna brings years of experience in medical aesthetics, recognizing its value for clients seeking to enhance their appearance.

 

With her thorough knowledge and expertise, she ensures each client receives a tailored consultation, treatment plan, and follow-up care, all delivered with empathy and warmth, fostering a strong, trusting client-practitioner relationship.
